ok some things i learnt about exchange.
and what I would advice people to/not to pack on their exchange trips.
1) dont bring alot of clothes. just bring enough to last you a week and for extreme conditions. e.g: one winter jacket (for places with winter), two t-shirts, 1 jeans, one pullover, one poncho. BUY the rest in the place. many times, people pack too many unnecessary clothes only to realise that their clothes are either too thick/thin for the weather. seriously just buy here. the people here know what fits their weather best. I have clothes that are too damn thick and too damn thin. and it doesnt help that the weather fluctuates like crazy everyday.
2) DONT bring kettle, iron, etc. firstly, it takes up unnecessary space in the luggage, secondly, the plugs may not fit/voltage may not fit. I've fused 3 multiplugs already because of a stupid hair dryer.
DO BRING: 1) lots of storage containers of different sizes. you will need to arrange lots of things
2) rubber bands.
3) a damn good pair of walking shoes. *especially for europe. where the roads are gravelled so it can get kinda uncomfortable if your shoes suck. plus there are mountains to hike and huge rocks to climb.
4)pegs. those small pegs that your mom uses to clip socks/underwear etc.
5)bring a bag pack. definitely much better than a hand bag when you're travelling to places/hiking etc
What to buy immediately when you reach:
1) hangers. time to unload your bag
2) washing detergent
3)wok/pan/spatula/pot/kettle/utensils/chopping knife
4)CLOTHES.
5)onion/garlic/soya sauce. most important spices you will need.
6)thermos flask
7)tissue paper.
8)WET TISSUE (VERY IMPORTANT)
that's all for now.
anyway, i dreamt of sasa yesterday. lol. wth i'm so vain. miss cosmetics shop so much.
